15 Days = Lomo Love + Zoboomafoo

This year is only 15 days in but has been extremely fun and productive. Since I’ve been back at my dorm every other day seems like a new adventure (I know sound cheesy but ). I’ve spent most of my time with amazing friends and doing some of our favorite things as well as trying new things:

  • I went to Peter Pan Bakery and got a red velvet donut, which in my opinion is the best donuts I’ve ever tasted.
  • My mom brought me a new camera for Christmas! It’s not the best camera but it good enough for me to start with.
  • I got my cheetah print stockings. This is important to me because I haven’t shopped for clothes in a really long time.
  • Justin came to visit! We went ice skating at Bryant Park & light painting at the SeaPort
  • Took a trip to the Bronx Zoo with Kaitlynn, Ivonna and Kenny. I didn’t get to visit my reptile friends because the zoo closes too early!
  • Secured about a bunch of interviews and content for POP TV including: two (4+artist) tours, 2 school events, and a fashion show.
  • And most significant of them all, I just started what I feel is going to be an awesome internship at the Lomography store in NYC. At this internship I will try to learn as much as possible about public relations, sales, and merchandising. While also discovering more about photography and the Lomographic Society.

I feel this year has a lot to offer to me and now I just have to go for it. I am still working on completing all my monthly goals (I’m more than halfway done). Also, I now have Flickr and 365, both of the links are located on the right column.

The 10 golden rules of Lomography:

  1. Take your camera everywhere you go
  2. Use it any time – day and night
  3. Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it
  4. Try the shot from the hip
  5. Approach the objects of your lomographic desire as close as possible
  6. Don’t think (william firebrace)
  7. Be fast
  8. You don’t have to know beforehand what you captured on film
  9. Afterwards either
  10. Don’t worry about any rules
